We have heard HP is in on Windows 10 Mobile and Continuum for the long-term, and the company is off to a good start with good support for their devices so far.

After 3 firmware updates to the HP Elite x3 their latest effort has been a new firmware update for the Lap Dock, taking it to version T0057.

The update brings:

  • Touchpad Support for touchpad physical click, drag and drop
  • Keyboard backlight is on by default and turns off after 15 seconds of no keyboard activity

To get the update, connect your HP Elite X3 to the Lap Dock,  run the HP Device Hub on the HP Elite X3, and check for new updates under Lap Dock firmware.

You should now be able to download and install the firmware to your connected Lap Dock. Reboot your Lap Dock by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.

Microsoft is currently offering the Unlocked HP Elite x3, HP Elite Desk Dock, HP Elite Lap Dock and  HP Elite Case for only $999, saving $462.
