After weeks of speculation and teasing, IO Interactive and WB Games have formally announced Hitman 2. If you’ve been keeping tabs on the series this shouldn’t come as a surprise but instead a welcome confirmation.

Hitman 2 will hopefully perfect the assassination sandbox that IO Interactive began with Hitman in 2016, according to a livestream on Twitch. It is a direct sequel to Hitman and the story will pick up where the last left off, with players travelling to exotic locations around the world. The team doubled down on its gameplay mechanics and will allow players a great amount of freedom to approach a mission as they see fit.

Unlike last time, this Hitman will release all at once and not as separate episodes in a season. However, it will still be supported with post-launch content that should keep players occupied after its initial release.

Hitman 2 is set to release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 13, 2018. Expect to hear more about it at E3 next week.

You can pre-order Hitman 2 from the Microsoft Store for $59.99.
