Today, we are very excited to announce the launch of MSPoweruser, a new website focused entirely on Microsoft’s products and services. Over the past eight years, we have been obsessively covering Microsoft’s mobile operating system. At WMPoweruser, as you know, we built a community which was – and still is – very passionate about Windows Phone and other products and services by Microsoft. In 2011, we upped the ante with the launch of our sister site, Microsoft-News.com, which aimed to give you an inside look at Microsoft’s efforts into other areas of technology. Today, we are pleased to announce that we are expanding the two sites into something bigger.

But why the merger of two of your favorite websites? You may ask. The answer is: Microsoft has been evolving. The Redmond, Washington-based company has been unifying several of its ecosystems into one. Windows 10, as you may recall, is designed to power your desktops, laptops, smartphones, Xbox One, and even IoT devices. For us, this meant that having two separate sites was no longer necessary.

Starting today, we will focus on various Microsoft product services, including apps, Windows Phone, Windows 10, Surface, OneDrive, Xbox, Office 365, and Azure. So whether you use a Windows Phone smartphone, or have a Windows 10-powered laptop, or if you utilise OneDrive to store your files, MSPoweruser.com is your go-to destination for anything – and everything – Microsoft.

Changes are hard, but fret not, we are keeping them minimal. You do not have to go to Microsoft-News.com or WMPowerUser.com separately to get your news. Instead, you now visit MSPoweruser.com. For your convenience, all the past stories published on the two aforementioned websites have been migrated to MSPoweruser.com, and the web address for all the stories have been meticulously changed with their MSPoweruser.com counterpart.

The expansion also creates new opportunities for our writers and editors to better help you get your head around various Microsoft’s apps, services and different policies. This will also help us improve your productivity and create elements for entertainment in the future.

As part of the launch, our Windows Phone app will receive a new update later today which will introduce the new branding and the new sections of the website. Keep a close eye on the website for the latest in our evolution, and we, of course, welcome feedback in any form to better serve you.

The Team

Of course, we needed to expand our team to better cover all of Microsoft’s products and services. We are excited to have Manish Singh, Greg Jordan and Brian Farkas in the MSPU team. Also, please welcome our new Senior Video Producer, Tom Hitchins. It’s also worth noting that we have made some changes to the existing team — I’m stepping up as the Deputy Editor whereas Michael Allison is now assuming the role of the Associate Editor.

So here’s the entire MSPU team, which will be working hard to get you the latest news. You can follow them on Twitter to send them tips and feedback.

What’s next?

In the coming months, we are planning to release some exciting new things for MSPU. First up is our upcoming Windows 10 UWP app. We have started working on a new Windows 10 app which will be available for PCs, Mobile devices and tablets in the coming months – or “Soon,” as Microsoft’s executives would like to put it. Here’s a very early sneak peak:

Additionally, we are planning to roll out some improvements to our homepage which will make it easier for you to find and read articles that are more relevant to you. This update will be available in the Fall, and we will begin beta testing it somewhere around June 2016.

Thank you

Over the past few years, we have received enormous support from the Windows Phone and Microsoft community. We really appreciate it and hope you guys will continue to encourage us with the new website.
