Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will launch on PS5 in August 2025, just three months after its Xbox and PC debut on May 21. The confirmation ends weeks of speculation following data-miner leaks and store listing errors.
The announcement comes directly from Ninja Theory, now under Xbox Game Studios, confirming the port in a brief update. Though Xbox funded the game, the decision to bring it to PlayStation reflects Microsoft’s shifting strategy, pushing more first-party titles beyond its ecosystem.
Hellblade 2 received mixed reactions at launch. Critics praised its visuals and audio work but called out the brief runtime and linear design. Some players expected more innovation or depth from a title this long in development.
Still, the game’s cinematic approach and strong motion capture earned attention. Built on Unreal Engine 5, it showcased facial animations and sound design that stand among the best in gaming.
The PS5 version will likely mirror the Xbox experience, though no PS5-specific features have been confirmed yet. Expect more updates as the August release approaches.
