MobileTechWorld have noticed that Bing Maps have changed their colour scheme, and generally for the better, with primary roadways now denoted in a more distinct color, text labels being easier to read and traffic overlays being clearer.

Now a Serbian WMPU reader has noted the update has also brought a lot more detail to the maps.

Marko writes:

When I opened maps on my phone I noticed that maps data is updated, too. Until today, my city in Serbia, Belgrade, had only few streets mapped, but now full maps are available, all streets are there and such. I believe Microsoft merged Bing maps with NAVTEQ ones.

Makes sense to us, and finally addresses a major issue many non-US readers have had with Bing Maps in their countries.

Have any of our other readers noticed an upgrade in their maps quality? Let us know below.

Thanks Marko for the tip.
