Google's Home and Chromecast go down worldwide

Users worldwide are experiencing issues with their Google Home and Chromecast devices.

Google had the following to say:

We’re aware of an issue affecting some Google Home and Chromecast users. We’re investigating the issue and working on a solution

The bug affects the functioning of the hardware’s voice functionality, users who say “Hey Google,” result in the device glitching out and delivering an error message, saying “something went wrong”.

In the case of Chromecasts, user s are unable to cast content from Google apps like YouTube and Google Play movies, causing irate users to take to social musers and hail the firm with abuse.

Google has yet to resolve the issue or provide a timeframe to consumers indicating when it will be resolved, as of now, the problem has been running for more than 6 hours now.
