Google’s cloud gaming service Google Stadia may not actually have its key exclusive to itself. In fact, Google Stadia’s big exclusive Gylt may not actually be an exclusive at all.

Developed by RIME developer Tequila Works, Gylt is a single-player puzzle title where you must help Sally, the player character, navigate a surprising world in the search for her missing cousin Emily.

In an interview with Eurogamer, creative director Raúl Rubio Munárriz wouldn’t specifically state whether or not the title was actually exclusive to Stadia, despite the trailer’s official name stating that it is.

“OK we haven’t confirmed that it’s an exclusive yet,” Munárriz told Eurogamer. “That’s a question we cannot answer…we haven’t answered that yet and I cannot answer yet.” Instead, Munárriz said that they would have to ask Google for concrete confirmation.

“Of course, we will try to make Gylt accessible for everyone,” he continued. “I guess it’s not a design question, it’s more of a business question. Today is not the time to answer that question but rest assured, everyone will be able to play the game.”

From the sounds of it, Tequila Works’ title may be a timed exclusive for Google’s streaming service at best.

With the lack of a beta test, extreme data requirements and, now, the apparent lack of any real launch exclusives, is Stadia in a troubling position?
