Google tests Discover Feed on desktop version of Google.com

Several years ago, Google introduced Discover as a feature of Google Search on mobile devices. This feature populates content related to a user’s interests, based on their Web and App Activity. The Google Discover feed is displayed under the search box in Google’s mobile apps and on the left-most pane of the Home screens on some Android devices.
However, Google has now begun testing the Discover feed on the desktop version of Google.com for a select group of users. The same feed displayed on mobile devices is now appearing below the search box on desktops.
Google’s desktop homepage has remained largely unchanged for several years, earning widespread praise for its simplicity and speed. However, this new change may not be welcomed by all users as it could potentially clutter the clean interface of the Google homepage. Furthermore, Google is not currently offering any options for users to disable this new Discover feed.
Interestingly, Bing, Google’s main competitor, already features a Discover-like news feed on its desktop homepage. Unlike Google, Bing allows its users to customize their homepage and choose whether or not to enable the news feed.
