Google is working on what appears to be another Google Home device as per DroidLife. A mysterious Google ‘Media Device’ passed through the FCC this week, and its listing revealed both a little and a lot about what this device is.

Here’s what was gleaned from its listing:

  1. It’s a Google Home/Nest related device. Why? It’s a model H2B which places it in the nest/Home family of devices with the Home Max being the H0B, the Home Hub the H1A ad the Nest Hub Max the H2A.
  2. It has a removable battery. This is kind of odd, as Google’s Home speakers are typically powered by the mains. Perhaps Google is working on a portable Goole Home speaker. That would make it more compelling, especially as a value play for students and people in countries with limited electricity.

Going by Google’s past trends, this device will likely be announced in October with the Pixel 4 at the next #MadeByGoogle event.
