Google today highlighted three new features that are rolling out to Chrome OS devices this month. Since Chrome OS update happens in the background, you should be seeing these features on Chromebooks already. Read about the new features below.

New media controls:

Google is introducing new media controls in Chrome OS which will allow you to control audio from a tab or an app. You can open your system menu and see all of the tabs or apps on your Chromebook that are playing audio tracks from one place.

New Camera app:

The updated Chromebook camera app brings Portrait mode support on Google Pixel Slate. Google will be bringing it to other Chromebooks in the future. In addition to that, Google has updated the Camera app UI for navigating between new modes, like square mode and portrait mode.

Improved notification management:

You can now check and clear notifications from Play Store apps on your Chromebook. You will be able to dismiss your notifications with the “Clear all” button.
