Google has rolled out a new update for the YouTube app for Android devices. The new update brings the much-awaited dark mode for Android users. The dark mode debuted on iOS devices earlier this year and it has finally made it to Android as well.

The Mountain View based company is rolling out the new update in phases so it might be a while before the update makes it to everyone. To enable dark mode, the user will need to go to Settings>General and enable it. The Dark Mode has become very popular recently due to the effect it has on the user’s eyes especially during the night. It is likely a server-side update, so the code for it is already lying dormant in whatever YouTube version you have installed.

If you’re using Android then you can download the latest update of YouTube from the Google Play Store.
