The majority of Windows Phone users are outside US, leaving many millions of people disappointed that they will not be getting access to Microsoft’s Cortana Digital Assistant until late in 2014 or even 2015.

Fortunately it turns out that Windows Phone 8.1 still makes it easy to change your device region, and as Windows Phone Lovers discovered and documented in the above video, this does also enable the OS’s Cortana feature.

Of course changing your region can cause all kinds of trouble with functionality of your phone, but it should be fine for playing around with Microsoft’s latest greatest software.
