Google Chrome is currently testing new features powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the user browsing experience. These features are currently available to users in the United States on Macs and Windows PCs. They are considered experimental, meaning they are subject to change and may not fully represent their final form.

Tab organizer: This feature automatically groups open tabs based on their content, potentially aiding users in managing many tabs simultaneously. Initial testing suggests that Tab Organizer may improve user efficiency in finding and switching between relevant tabs.

AI-Generated Themes: Users can create custom Chrome themes based on their chosen subject, mood, visual style, and color using a generative AI model. This feature leverages machine learning to translate user preferences into unique, personalized theme designs.

Drafting Assistance (Scheduled for release next month): This feature will offer AI-powered assistance with writing on the web and suggesting text for tasks such as composing reviews, emails, and other online forms. The potential impact of this feature on user writing productivity and online communication remains to be evaluated.

Integrating generative AI into Chrome represents a potential step towards a more personalized and efficient user browsing experience.
