Fitbit has released an update to their Windows 10 UWP app, taking it to version 2.26.2.

This and a recent update added better support for the Fitbit Ionic, including loading music from your Windows 10 PC using the app. The app is also reportedly much faster.

The changelog reads:

  • You can now create playlists to download to Fitbit Ionic using the new drag-and-drop feature in the Windows 10 desktop app. First, create a playlist, then drag and drop the songs you want to include. For more information, see How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?
  • You can no longer change a playlist while music is transferring.
  • We fixed a problem where some customers couldn’t confirm their Strava account on Ionic.
  • We fixed some bugs and made stability improvements.

Another new and useful feature for Ionic users in UK is the ability to make contactless payments using their smartwatch.

The only bank which currently supports this is little-known Starling Bank, but hopefully, wider support will eventually become available.

The UWP Fitbit app can be found in the Windows Store for both phones and PCs.
