Fable trademark Microsoft intend to use

UPDATE 6:22PM ET: We’ve received an update that our source is a repost and the correct source is SkyPikachuTV on Twitter, who noticed this back in early April. We have since corrected the article to reflect this and want to apologise sincerely and profusely to SkyPikachuTV for any offence caused.

We recently reported on a rumour that a new Fable game is set to be announced at E3. Now, there’s a report of Fable IV showing up on the Mixer App for Xbox One.

A Twitter post from user SkyPikachuTV shows the dropdown list for Mixer, listing games such as Fable II, Fable III, and, curiously enough, Fable IV.

Of course, this could just be a naming error as Fable: The Journey, the infamous Kinect-only game, is sometimes considered to be the series’ fourth instalment.

However, it has been confirmed that the Kinect game is in fact listed as Fable: The Journey in Mixer’s system, implying that this probably isn’t a listing mistake and that it is indeed the Fable IV we’ve all been waiting for.

With Fable 4 allegedly being developed by Playground Games and also allegedly targeting the current generation consoles, it only makes sense for the game to be revealed at this year’s E3 press conference. With Xbox allegedly aiming to “go big” at this year’s conference, a new Fable entry would be a fantastic win for Xbox One and Windows 10 owners.
