If you haven’t been invited into the numerous Technical Alpha sessions that Sea of Thieves has hosted for the past year, you’re in luck. Gearing up for the game’s launch in 2018, Rare has announced that everyone who joins Sea of Thieves’ Insider Program before December 1 will be able to participate in its next Technical Alpha, which will be the biggest one yet.

Previously, Technical Alpha sessions would only go out to several thousand players at a time, with no guarantee that you would get in. Since Rare launched the game’s Insider Program last November, the number of players grew from just 1,000 to over 200,000. The company has continually updated and tweaked Sea of Thieves to make it more community oriented, and now everyone will be able to join in on the fun soon.

Joining the Insider Program is free and just requires you to have an Xbox Live account and be older than 18 in order to sign the NDA. Because Sea of Thieves is an online multiplayer game, you will also need a valid Xbox Live Gold membership. Technical Alphas currently cannot be streamed or captured due to the NDA in place at this time.

This is a fantastic announcement from Rare that is sure to give Sea of Thieves renewed momentum going into the new year.
