Paint, one of the oldest applications that come with Windows may be getting a major update sometime soon. Recently, Microsoft enthusiast WalkingCat discovered a new app called “Newcastle” on the Windows Store. The app was previously called “New Paint”, according to WalkingCat. Now, we got our hands-on the Newcastle app — which turns out to be a modern Paint. No, this isn’t just a Centennial app, and it seems like a native Universal Windows App. With the app, you can do all kinds of basic photo editing, just like you can do on the current Paint app. Here are some screenshots:
This app could be packed with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, but it isn’t quite clear if Microsoft will kill the classic Paint app which a lot of users actually use. However, to be honest, the new Paint app is far more superior, and defenitely works a lot better in Windows 10.
What do you think of the upcoming Paint app for Windows 10? Discuss in the comment section below.
