Copilot Voice, Microsoft’s advanced voice feature like ChatGPT, just met another competitor in town: xAI’s Grok 3, led by Elon Musk.
The company’s latest flagship model, which was shipped recently, was trained with ten times the computing power of its predecessor. It excels at tasks like mathematics, science, and programming, and introduces new features such as DeepSearch for AI-powered research that scans the internet and X (Twitter) feed to give you an answer.
With that, Musk also promises that it’ll launch a “voice mode” for the Grok app about a week after the model’s release. This feature, which challenges the what’s-already-available Copilot Voice and ChatGPT’s Voice Mode, gives Grok 3 a synthesized voice so you can chat and talk with the AI like you do with humans.
Microsoft, on the other hand, launched Copilot Voice a while ago just in time for an extensive overhaul of its Copilot AI. It lets you interact naturally with the AI via voice with initial availability in English and expansion plans to more regions and languages.
At that time, the Redmond tech giant also announced Copilot Vision, which let the AI “see” and respond to content on the screen, such as text and images.
For now, you can access Grok 3 through the X platform by logging into your X account. The model is available to X Premium subscribers, though it has also been made available for free to all users with a limit of 10 messages every two hours.
