Do you often use Edge for Gamers mode? If so, we’ve got some exciting news for you.
The mode, which was announced back in May, just got slightly revamped. As spotted by Windows enthusiast @Leopeva64, the new mode, which is currently in the Canary channel, is now called “Gaming loadout” and includes several new features.
After enabling the Gaming Loadout toggle, users can now access a new pop-up screen that enables them to personalize a range of browser settings according to their preferences.

As you can see, this new screen allows users to enable different browser settings. This includes things like enabling dark mode, turning on the “Improve the PC gaming experience” toggle, and adding the Discord and Twitch apps to the sidebar.
Another new feature is the ability to customize the Gaming loadout with different themes. Microsoft has partnered with a number of popular game studios to create exclusive themes, including themes for Halo, Minecraft, and Forza Horizon 5.
The revamped Edge for Gamers mode is still in development, but it’s clear that Microsoft is taking gaming seriously.
Some users, however, are not happy with the recent updates to Windows 11’s native browser. They have praised Edge for its simplicity in the past, but they are now complaining about new features such as the crypto wallet and Edge for Gamers. They argue that there are better browsers designed for gamers, such as Opera GX, so there is no need for Edge to add these features.
What are your thoughts on the Edge for Gamers mode? Have you taken it out for a spin? Let us know in the comments!
