Duolingo is a cross platform app for learning languages that recently became available on Windows Phone. It has received several updates to add functionality as well as general bug fixes with another small update being pushed out today.
This update adds sharing capabilities aimed at schools, allowing you to “share your progress with a parent, teacher or a friend”
From the app description –
Duolingo is changing the way people learn languages.
• It’s free, for real. No fees, no ads, no gimmicks. A college-quality education without the price tag.
• It’s fun. Lose hearts for answering incorrectly, advance by completing bite-sized lessons, and track your progress with shiny achievements.
• It’s constantly improving. We bust out the lab coats regularly and measure how well you learn on Duolingo. Your learning experience only gets better over time.
If you want to learn Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Irish, Dutch, Danish, or English, the fast, fun, and free way, there’s no better choice than Duolingo.
While Duolingo is a well designed app and can help you learn a new language or two, it is of course, best used as a supplement to more strict language training.
Having said that, download it if you haven’t already or take the new update for a spin if you already have.
