Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, an interactive visual novel courtesy of the Game Grumps, is heading to the Nintendo Switch and certain mobile devices.

In Dream Daddy, you play as a (customisable!) single dad who’s just made the move to the nice little town of Maple Bay with your daughter, Amanda. To your surprise, you find that most of the dads nearby are single – and looking for love.

The game, along with being a visual novel, includes mini-games, multiple endings, and voice acting by members of the Game Grumps themselves. It’s also packed full of dad jokes. So many dad jokes.

On the surface, Dream Daddy appears to be just a silly little game about dating dads, similar to how Hatoful Boyfriend appears to be a silly game about dating pigeons.

Both games go deeper than that, however – Dream Daddy tackles subjects such as social anxiety, toxic masculinity, and life lessons about fatherhood and relationships. On the other hand, Hatoful Boyfriend has all out biological warfare and murder. Tomato, tomato.

There’s no current date for the Switch and mobile ports, but we can assume they’ll be coming sometime in 2019.

If you can’t wait that long and desperately want to date a dad right this minute, you can pick up Dream Daddy on Steam or on the PlayStation Store.
