Not even an entire year after its official launch, Discord’s Nitro games catalogue is being pulled from the service.
The news was broken in a blog post from Discord which rather matter-of-factly got straight to the point: the majority of subscribers to the Nitro subscription service just simply never played the free games that came with the membership. As such, the game catalogue will be pulled on October 15th, 2019.
Subscribers to the service can still play the games up until the set date. Any games that have been previously purchased on Discord and Nitro Game Perks will be unaffected.
This change may be surprising, especially for those who did actually play the games, and as such Discord are offering refunds for anyone who wishes to cancel their membership. If you’re affected by the change and want to cancel, you can do so by following the link here.
It should be noted that just the game catalogue is being pulled from Nitro. The subscription service will continue to exist, and its members will still be able to reap the rewards – just sans the games catalogue.

In fact, Discord is actually planning on upgrading Nitro. The $9.99 plan is currently “in the workshop” and undergoing new additions, including a freshly implemented and doubled upload size of 100mb for the $9.99 subscribers.
For more information, you can check out the official Discord blog post here. As a reminder, the Nitro games catalogue will be pulled on October 15th, 2019.
