On May 27, Discord quietly rolled out a beta feature called Orbs, now available to select users on desktop and browser. Orbs act as a virtual currency earned by completing in-app Quests. Once you collect enough, you can redeem them in the Shop for digital perks, including Nitro credits and cosmetic upgrades.
You’ll spot eligible Quests via the Quest Bar in the bottom-left of the desktop app or through the “Quest Home” section under the Discover tab. Complete one, claim your Orbs, and check your balance in the Shop or Quest Home.

To spend Orbs, head to the Shop via the Discord icon and tap the “Orbs Exclusives” tab. You’ll find items like badges, avatar decorations, and Nitro credits—only purchasable with Orbs. Regular paid items and subscriptions remain off-limits for Orbs transactions.
Each eligible item shows its Orb price. If you have enough, the Shop highlights it. If not, only the cash price appears. Once claimed, Orb purchases are final. They can’t be refunded or transferred.
Orbs don’t expire and stay tied to your account. You can’t cash them out or send them to others. Discord hasn’t confirmed a full rollout date.
