Grinding Gear Games just announced that their award-winning game, Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath, has launched on Xbox One-the first console release for the massively popular Diablo III-like role-playing game. Despite its free-to-play nature, Path of Exile is designed around a strong online item economy, deep character customisation, competitive player vs. player matches, and ladder races. Unlike many other titles, the microtransactions are always cosmetic and don’t make a difference on how many monsters you can tackle.

If you haven’t played Path of Exile, I recommend you do because not only does it look amazing on Xbox One, but it runs at 1080p 60 FPS. It’s also getting a 4K upgrade which will make the game run at native 4K 60 FPS. Grinding Gear Games are one of my favorite developers and the love they put into their product shows. I never buy microtransactions or any other bundles for free-to-play games but I’ll get it for Path of Exile because it’s that good and that fair. The rest of the industry could learn from Grinding Gear Games. You’ll know exactly what I mean when you play the game for yourself.
