The Windows store search issues still threatens the livelihood of independent developers like myself.

In my case, I updated my game on a few months ago, the 1st of August [Update: An earlier version of this article intimated this was the 8th of January, we apologize of the error] and I was finally able to find it in search the night of the 9th- this is already unacceptable.

Now I can not find it using search (by keyword or name) and it’s not even visible in our company application list. The only way to access it is using the direct link but that is not user friendly, nor is ir commercially viable.

Over the past two years I continued to update and maintain the game. This game is rather popular, showing up in the top 100 games in Brazil & US store but as things stand, each day over 90% if new users are lost.

This is not a first time issue, not is it limited to just me, as evidence I present complaints which appear on the MSDN forums.

The first five issues hyper linked are those related to application searching, the second are issues related to a seemingly random drop in downloads.

By the time the game will be returned to its initial position, revenue and potential users would have been lost. For me and the vast majority of indie developers, it is simply not fair.
