Dell XPS 13 with 7th Gen Intel Core processor and Killer Wireless coming soon

Dell XPS 15

Dell XPS 13 is one of the best laptops you can buy in the market. It is the smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet, thanks to its virtually borderless InfinityEdge display. It comes with great specs and decent price. Looks like Dell is now planning to release an updated Dell XPS 13 with the same design. They are replacing Intel 6th Gen processors with Intel 7th Gen (Kaby Lake) processor for improved performance and battery life. With the updated processor, video graphics card is bumped to Intel HD Graphics 620 instead of the old Intel HD Graphics 520. Following processor options will be available.

  • 7th Generation Intel®  CoreTM  i3-7100U processor (3M Cache, up to 2.4 GHz)
  • 7th Generation Intel®  CoreTM  i5-7200U processor (3M Cache, up to 3.1 GHz)
  • 7th Generation Intel®  CoreTM  i7-7500U processor (4M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)

They are also increasing 16GB RAM speed to 2133MHz from 1866MHz. Another change is related to wireless card, they are replacing Intel 8260 2×2 802.11ac card with Killer 1535 Wireless-AC 2×2. The Killer Wireless-AC 1535 is the second generation of Killer Wireless-AC and introduces ExtremeRange technology that offers two external 5GHz signal amplifiers plus it supports 802.11ac Wave 2 features including support for MU-MIMO and Transmit Beamforming. Hopefully, Dell will soon release this updated XPS 13 for consumers around the world.
