These days you need a gimmick to raise interest in your laptop.  We have had had HP with their leather-clad Folio, Lenovo with their dual-screened e-ink Yoga Book and now we are seeing a recent patent from Dell that the company is also working on an innovative new laptop design.

The patent for an ‘INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM WITH MULTIPLE DETACHABLE DISPLAYS’, was filed by Dell Products L.P in June 2017 and published by USPTO on January 3, 2019.

It details a 2-in-1 portable laptop which can be configured to connect multiple external displays magnetically, which can be used to extend the desktop for increased productivity or mirror it for presentations. Dell suggests the second display could be attached to the bottom of the laptop for transport.

It is of course not certain that Dell with release this ungainly device, but if you are curious about its features you can read more at FreePatentsOnline here.
