ALK has updated their free GPS Navigation app, Copilot GPS.

The app offers detailed street maps of an entire country or region are stored on your phone, so you can plan routes and get driving or walking directions without a mobile internet connection. Millions of useful Points of Interest are built-in, so it’s easy to find nearby restaurants, hotels and more. You can also search for local places using Yelp, Google™ and Wikipedia.

It features:

Alternate Routes: choice of up to 3 ways to your destination
Driving directions: manually scroll through the turns to your destination

The new update brings free North America & Europe map updates with the latest, most accurate maps, a new ActiveRoutes feature which calculates the best route to your destination based on actual road speeds at the time of day, enhanced Motion Lock and the Map of India is now available.

The app has also added time settings to its CommuteMe™ feature.

Out of the box the app does not offer turn by turn voice guidance, but this can be added via an in-app purchase. ALK is running a 25% off promotion on the upgrade, which is available only today.
