Codemasters has announced that they are bringing the classic Micro Machines racer to the Xbox One, PC and PS4 this April.

The nostalgic will recall the game from its first release in 1991, and even from its last release, which was more than 10 years back in 2006, when it was released as “Micro Machines 4” on the PS2, PSP, DS and PC.

The game will feature its own unique race track themes, with some races taking place on a billiard table, gardens, kitchen, and computer desktops. Each of the updated 12 vehicles has its own unique load-out of abilities and weapons; the game will launch with an extreme range of customization options.

The game features updated HD graphics and new modes of game play and features four player split gaming screen and 12 players in an online multiplayer mode.

It also includes new team-based game modes including King of the Hill and Capture the Flag.

“The first Micro Machines built a huge progress in terms of multiplayer racing game, and remains much loved in the gaming community up until now,” Codemasters Vice President Jonathan Bunney shared. The game will surely bring fun experience to PCs and consoles, offering a breath of fresh air from the more serious multiplayer alternatives.
