9025 The Celio Redfly has always been a rather niche device, being a keyboard and screen extender for Windows Mobile smartphones, in the form factor of a netbook. The device has 2 main weaknesses – both related to its inability to deal well with accelerated graphics from your smartphone.  The device can not steam video in full resolution and also can not display web pages rendered using Opera Mobile 9.5.

Celio has now addressed the second problem, and has made the Redfly now exponentially more useful. A new driver, the part that resides on your smartphone, has been released by Celio that allows it to display output from Opera Mobile.  That turns what was previously just a device for mainly entering text onto your smartphone in a full netbook contender, but with all day battery life. At the low prices the Celio had been selling at this makes the device now rather attractive.

The Redfly can be purchased from our affiliate partner eXpansys for £162.99.
