It seemed with the recent WhatsApp beta the end has come for WhatsApp on Windows Phone, with the app complaining that “your version of WhatsApp does not support” messages received.

The bug seemed to particularly affect picture messages being sent, but also affected regular text.

Build 2.17.140 of course introduced a scroll button to easily scroll back down to the bottom of your message list, and while not a world-shattering feature seemed to be enough to break the app.

The good news is that a new build of the beta all is already on the way. According to WABetaInfo build 2.17.142 has already solved the issue.

The latest WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone can be found in the Store here.
