Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. is considering purchasing the fitness company, Fitbit. The firm made a bid for them this week for an undisclosed amount, and neither Google nor Fitbit have commented on the Reuters report at the moment.

While Google competes with Apple in laptops and smartphones, the firm has yet to push a fitness watch solution of its own.

Google was rumoured to be working on a Pixel Watch and has increased its focus on apps like Fit in recent years. A purchase of Fitbit could help further the firm’s ambitions in this market.
