At Microsoft shareholder meeting today, CEO Steve Ballmer said that Windows Phones are so far selling at four times the rate of the same time last year. Of course it doesn’t let us know the actual device sales numbers, but we can have a rough estimate. If we consider 1-2 million Windows Phone devices were selling last year, according to Ballmer’s numbers we can expect 4-8 million Windows Phone device sales from this quarter.

A recent report from Yahoo China claimed that Nokia received an order for 2.5 million Nokia Lumia 920 device around the world. If the report was true, combining Windows Phone 7.x device sales and Windows Phone 8 device sales would be equal to somewhere around 4-8 million as Steve Ballmer said today. What do you think about the Windows Phone sales numbers?
