Microsoft seems to have scored a major app in China, with Baidu on the verge of releasing Baidu Maps, their mapping software similar to Google Maps, into Marketplace.

The XAP has recently leaked, revealing a full-featured Metro-style app, with the killer feature of allowing segments of the map, e.g cities, to be downloaded for off-line use.

The app also features a Point of Interest data base, containing items such as food, entertainment, and transport.

Unlike their Android counterpart the app unfortunately lacks turn by turn voice navigation – hopefully a feature which will come in the final release.
