Bad news for Cortana fans - it will be US- only for quite a while

Cortana

Windows Phone 8.1 is a massive upgrade to the OS, with a huge number of new features, but there is no doubt the sexiest feature of the upgrade is its new digital assistant Cortana.

Unfortunately it appears that if you are outside USA you will be waiting quite a long time for Cortana, even in an English speaking country.

Uswitch reports the update will only hit UK and China late in 2014, while the Times of India reports Cortana will only arrive in 2015.

I suspect most of the work will be on improving the voice recognition for different languages and accents, but of course other localizations will also be needed.
