Since the launch of Razer phone last year, companies have been working to target mobile gamers. This was followed by Xiaomi who recently launched Black Shark gaming smartphone. You can now add Asus to the list as the Taiwanese company is looking to launch their own gaming smartphone.

The confirmation came directly from the CEO who shared details during Asus’s 100th retail store opening in the Philippines. According to CEO Jerry Shen, the company is planning to develop and launch a smartphone that caters to the mobile gaming audience. The company has already delivered a decent ROG lineup of laptops that target gamers. Also, we do expect the gaming smartphone to be sold under the Republic of Gamers banner.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much to share in this regard right now but we do expect the company to share more on this soon. For now, it will be interesting to see how well the existing gaming smartphones by Razer and Xiaomi perform in the market.
