Over the past few months, there have been countless leaks regarding the new Assassin’s Creed game from Ubisoft. While images and other information point to Ancient Egypt, there has been a lot of confusion about the game’s release date. In their latest earnings call, Ubisoft said that the game would launch when it’s ready. It may not be ready until 2018! Well, this is contrary to what numerous retailers are listing today. According to Alcom, a notable Swiss online retailer, Assassin’s Creed: Empire will launch on October 17, 2017. October 17 coincides with a Tuesday so the date is at least plausible.

As with any leak, take it with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation from Ubisoft. It’s widely expected that the publisher will announce the project at E3 2017. It’s surprising that the company hasn’t issued any statement so far given the numerous leaks associated with the game.

Many others websites are saying that the game is coming out in November, but given the fact that Alcom listed the release date for Battlefield 1 correctly all those months ago, they may have gotten this one right too. It’s worth mentioning that many retailers also list rumored games and even go as far as putting them up for preorder without any confirmation from developers. We all know that Assassin’s Creed Empire exists, here’s hoping that it actually releases in October.
