Apple is offering free repairs to users of the Apple Watch Series 2 and 3 who have suddenly discovered a crack on their devices that wasn’t their fault.

The firm is offering to repair it for free and out of warranty.

“Apple has determined that, under very rare circumstances, a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminium models of an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3,” The firm said. “The crack may begin on one side and then may continue around the screen as shown in the images below.”

Apple is offering this to affected Apple Watch Series 2, and Apple Watch Series 3 devices. All devices will be covered from 3 years from purchase or one year from this announcement, with the further-reaching timeframe being the operative one.
