Apple finally announces updated MacBook Air with Retina display to take on Surface Laptop 2

At a press event today, Apple finally announced the successor to the hugely successful MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air comes with 13.3-inch Retina Display with 50% narrower bezels when compared to the old MacBook Air. Apple has also brought the TouchID fingerprint authentication system to MacBook Air that will enable users to easily login to their Mac. Apple has included 3rd generation butterfly keyboard with backlight support and ForceTouch touchpad. It also comes with 20% improved speaker output and 3-microphone array for great video calling experience.
Unfortunately, Apple has only included two USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 3) in this product. Be prepared for the dongle life! Spec wise, users can get this laptop with up to Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 1.5TB SSD. Apple claims that the new MacBook Air will offer up to 13 hours of battery life despite weighing just 2.75 pounds.
The new MacBook Air will start at $1199 and it is available for order today.
