There must be something about the Microsoft Surface that makes its users rather distracted. It may be the perfectly balanced design of the blissful confidence of having a full-power computer always at your beck and call, but it seems Surface owners often forget they are carrying it, and therefore leaves the device in harm’s way.

The latest victim Robbbilicious’s Surface, that was also left on top of his car, where it subsequently fell off and was run over at 60 mph.

He writes:

Each car passed by with the tires on each side of the Surface until the very last car. The tire of the car ran completely over the Surface and next thing I saw was my brand new $700 tablet and touch cover flying through the air in separate directions! My heart jumped, and so did I! I jumped out of my car and ran across the street to first grab the tablet, then the Surface, and then my phone which of course fell out of my lap during all this. I jumped back in my car just before 60 mph traffic made its way to me!

As can be seen above, while the device did not escape unscathed from the ordeal, it did survive fully functional, with just enough scars to remind Rob not to be so careless in the future.

Lets learn from the example of our fellow Surface owners and look after our tablets a bit better – two Road Traffic Accidents are surely enough?
