AMD will be launching the 12 and 24-core Threadripper 2 CPUs on October 29. The new chipsets will be the cheaper more affordable version of the 32-core Threadripper. The 12-core and 24-core CPUs will launch on October 29 and will cost $649 and $1,299 respectively.

The 12-core Threadripper will come with 3.5GHz base clock speed, 32MB of Level 3 cache and 180W thermal design power. The 24-core, on the other hand, will come with 3GHz base speed, 4.2GHz peak speed, 64MB of Level 3 cache and 250W Thermal Design Power.

Both the new CPUs will be available starting 29th October and should be a better choice for people who can’t afford the 32-core CPU. There won’t be a noticeable performance difference unless you push the CPU to its limits.
