Two weeks ago we reported that Amazon’s Windows Phone app is no longer showing up in the search results of the Windows Store. If you are trying to install the app by searching for it in the Store, you will not be able to find it unless you have a direct link to the app.

Today the app is now completely pulled, with Windows Phone users unable to install it at all.

Amazon support has earlier confirmed to WindowsUnited.de in a detailed statement that the app has in fact been made intentionally unavailable, and recommended that users use the browser instead. At the time they did not confirm whether a replacement was being worked on.

If users wish to continue to use the app it may be wise not to uninstall it, but a better alternative may be to use a 3rd party app instead such as Amazon Search Unofficial.
