Amazon Fire tablets are incredibly cheap, and with Amazon’s latest update have also become incredibly useful.

Amazon is pushing out an update for its Amazon Fire Device Dashboard which adds a Smart Home panel which lets you directly control your Alexa devices.

This means you can control your smart speakers, smart lights, cameras, thermostats, switches, and plugs and more from one easy to use interface, without saying a word.

The feature is being rolled out to these Amazon Fire tablets:

  • Amazon Fire 7 (2019)
  • Amazon Fire HD 8 (2018)
  • Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020)
  • Amazon Fire HD 10 (2019)

The Smart Home button is easily accessible from any screen in the left corner of the navigation bar, including your lock screen.

To get your own fancy smart home control console, an Amazon Fire tablet can be purchased as cheaply as $49.99.
