Redmond officials have just announced Skills in Microsoft Viva, a new AI-powered service included in the Microsoft Viva Suite to help organizations grow and manage talent.

The burning question is, though, what does it mean and what can you do with this feature?

Skills in Microsoft Viva uses the vast amount of data from Microsoft Graph, the full capabilities of the Viva platform, and the close partnership with LinkedIn’s Skills Graph to provide an AI-powered and employee-approved approach to empowering high-performing organizations.

It also uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze data and learn about the skills of each employee. This information can then be used by Viva customers to better understand the skills of their workforce.

Microsoft also says that the feature focuses on three core scenarios in its initial phase: strategic workforce planning, upskilling and reskilling, and skill discovery in the flow of work. Each scenario has its own perks, depending on your function in the organization.

The best part? Skills in Viva will be included in the Microsoft Viva Suite license at no additional cost and will enter into private preview by the end of 2023.

Fancy to try it out?
