Apple has brought OpenAI’s ChatGPT tech to its devices, as announced officially not too long ago. The Microsoft-backed company has secured the deal to bring the model that powers the popular chatbot to Apple Intelligence, its Copilot-like feature.

But that won’t be the only AI that Apple will bring to the table. After a long-lasting saga, the iPhone makers have reportedly sealed a deal with Google to get the Gemini model to these devices. An exclusive report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his newsletter suggests that the Cupertino tech giant is expected to announce a deal to integrate Gemini into its devices this fall in September, expanding current offerings of its AI.

Apple’s annual September usually shows off the latest line-up of its devices. Last year, Apple unveiled the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max—the latter two are the only devices with Apple Intelligence AI offering for now.

Not too long ago, it was reported that Apple turned down Meta’s offer to bring its Llama AI into iPhones and iPads a while ago. The reason, as first noted by Bloomberg, is said to be privacy: Apple had nothing but brief talks with Meta to bring the Llama model back in March, but nothing progressed.

OpenAI has openly tried to convince Apple to go full GPT to power its devices’ intelligence. The move event went as far as launching the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS before Windows, for starters, despite billions of dollars that Microsoft has already poured into the AI company.
