Samsung is said to be following Apple’s footsteps by not including a charger or earphones with its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S21, according to a report published by SamMobile. While Samsung is yet to confirm whether there is any truth to this report, a few months back, we reported that Samsung is considering not including a charger with some of its future smartphones, so this should not surprise anyone.
Samsung has a long history of mocking Apple and before copying it. The South Korean company mocked Apple for removing the headphone jack in iPhone X, but a few years later, it started ditching the headphone jack from its own flagship Galaxy devices and deleted ads that mocked the iPhone for its lack of headphone jack. If the report of Samsung not including a charger or earphones comes out to be true, the company’s latest ad that mocks iPhone 12 might receive the same treatment as future Samsung devices are likely to join the bandwagon.
By not including the power adapter, the company will surely manage to cut the production cost, but whether or not it passes the benefit to the consumers will be interesting to see.
The Galaxy S21 lineup will include S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. As per rumors, the Galaxy S21 and S21+ will use a flat display panel, while the most expensive one that’s the S21 Ultra will feature a curved display panel. The size of the bezels on all sides will be the same in the S21 lineup. The S21 lineup will be powered by Snapdragon 875 and has support for 25W fast charging. The S21 will have three cameras at the back and one selfie camera, housing which will be a punch hole camera cutout. The Galaxy S21 Ultra, on the other hand, will have four camera lenses. Both the S21 and S21 Ultra will have one selfie camera, housing which will be a punch hole camera cutout.
