If you use Outlook on your Android or iOS phone, you probably know the app is really awesome. Well, that’s not exactly a Microsoft app — the app was built by Acompli, whichMicrosoft acquired last year. Since then, the Outlook Mobile apps have improved a lot, thanks to the Acompli team and its founder, Javier Soltero.

Microsoft now wants Acompli’s founder, Javier Soltero to improve Outlook on all devices, too. Javier Soltero recently updated his LinkedIn account, which reveals he is now the Corporate Vice President of Outlook. In a launch event for Office 2016, Javier told Re/Code:

“That’s the opportunity we are chasing and it’s a rich opportunity. The size of the team is a bit daunting for a guy who’s spent the last 10-plus years in companies with less than 75 people. In terms of the huge installed base, there’s always a bit of ‘who moved my cheese?’ involved in evolving products like this,” Soltero said. “We’ve come to understand that productivity software is always evolving, and it’s our responsibility to bring the customer along a journey of constant improvement as opposed to dropping major releases every few years.”

It will be very interesting to what changes Javier brings in the near future but expect the Outlook app on the desktop to get even better in the coming months.
