Last year, we reportedthat Acer’s 2015 product roadmap includes a line-up of Windows Phones and it will go on sale in the first half of 2015. Yesterday, Acer CEO Jason Chen has confirmed that his company is planning to launch Windows-based smartphones and will showcase the products at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015. He also confirmed that Acer will continue to mainly focus on the entry-level segment and does not have a plan to launch high-end smartphone devices.

Other than Nokia (now Microsoft Mobile), no other Windows Phone OEM has made a significant impact in the market. Hopefully, Acer will be able to break the jinx at MWC this year.
