Wonder Woman

Have you been longing for Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman game? Well, we might have some news for you.

Bloomberg has exclusively learned that the game, which has been in the work for quite some time now, is still “years away” from its release if it ever reaches that point.

The game, according to the source, was rebooted early in 2024 and switched directors, with development costs exceeding $100 million. Despite being one of the companyโ€™s biggest bets, its future remains uncertain.

The report says that the original idea for Wonder Woman was to have her befriend enemies using a unique system, but that idea has now been scrapped for a more traditional action-adventure game.

The game’s future is now in limbo due to problems with changes in Monolith’s leadership, chief David Haddad’s sudden exit, and issues with the game’s technology.

Haddad spent 12 years at the helm and oversaw the development of Hogwarts Legacy, Game of Thrones: Conquest, and Mortal Kombat 1 during his reign.

Warner Bros’ gaming division has faced a lot of failed titles recently, so much so that the company lost $300 million in 2024 despite access to popular IPs like Batman and The Lord of the Rings.

A lot of titles have underperformed in the gaming market, with the likes of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions causing millions of dollars lost. Hogwarts Legacy was a hit in 2023 though, but that wasn’t enough to recover the loss.
