If you’ve ever wanted to experience what it’s like to live during plague-ridden times without actually committing to the horrible and gruesome side effects usually associated with the bubonic plague, then you’re in luck! Action-adventure horror stealth game A Plague Tale: Innocence now has a free demo available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
A Plague Tale: Innocence follows Amicia de Rune and her brother, Hugo, as they flee from infected rats, English soldiers, and various other deadly and occasionally supernatural dangers.
Amicia also has to balance keeping the two safe from harm with keeping Hugo calm in the face of peril, lest he attracts unwanted attention.
The free trial gives players access to the first of an entire 17 chapters which, in plague symptom terms, is the equivalent of developing chills, a high fever, and a general sense of malaise.
However, if you find yourself hooked and want to pick up the entire game, A Plague Tale: Innocence is on sale on all platforms until September 16th.
In case you need any more convincing, just know that the official MSPoweruser review for A Plague Tale: Innocence scored the game a very decent 8.5 out of 10. We also called it a “gorgeous and macabre tale that doesn’t shy away from its more fantastical underlying narrative.”
You can pick up both the free trial version and full versions of A Plague Tale: Innocence on Steam here, the Microsoft Store here, and the PlayStation Store here.
